Why this exists

A “starting at” price leaves too much unsaid.

Providers may advertise a first month, a monthly equivalent that requires prepayment, or a care fee that excludes medication. These numbers can each be accurate on their own while still failing to answer what a person will pay. We put the price components next to their billing conditions and link back to the provider’s page.

Editorial method

How we check a number.

1. Start with the official source. We use provider pricing and terms for offers, CMS and state agencies for coverage, and FDA and HHS for safety and licensing. Each claim has a source and review date.
2. Use community reports to find questions. Reddit posts can reveal confusing bills, prior authorization or cancellation experiences. We do not use anonymous reports to establish a price, medical claim or legal rule.
3. Record the conditions. We note the first charge, ongoing rate, billing frequency, drug inclusion, prepayment, and eligibility limits that are publicly stated. Conflicting official pages are shown as conflicting.
4. Keep unlike programs apart. FDA-approved medications and compounded products are labeled separately. Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance and cash pay are separate routes.
5. Calculate only what is knowable. A 12-month figure appears only for a clearly defined fee schedule. For example, $39 for month one plus $149 for 11 later months is $1,678 in membership fees, before medication. We do not guess a drug, dose, or quarterly cash-flow schedule.
6. Recheck and correct. We aim to review prices and policy pages monthly, and sooner after a known change. Each guide shows its last check date; visitors can send corrections to [email protected].
